Summary

The multi-use facility uniquely houses several user groups with diverse program requirements all within a centralized building. The 60,000 sq.ft. facility includes two large training shop spaces, several fully functional education facilities, office space, meeting rooms and boardrooms for both the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 93 & Local 2041 along with a fully functioning Banquet Hall.

This Project is a truly unique building from the multi material façade, the layout of interior space, the use of eye-popping material in the “Front of House” and the cost saving durable surfaces in the “Back of House”. All ensured the building maintained the requirements of a unique building while being mindful of the construction budget and long-term maintenance costs. The multi façade exterior includes precast concrete, Alaska yellow cedar beams, curtain wall, insulated metal siding, composite metal siding and laminate siding. Interior finishes in the lobby and offices include wood beams, wood paneling, wood doors and frames and granite floors.

The four distinct areas, from the shop/training area, classrooms, offices, meeting areas and hall are all serviced by complete independent HVAC systems to ensure that all the distinct spaces are properly controlled. Each space uses light harvesting technology and have fully adjustable LED lighting. Classrooms are all fitted out with the latest wireless audio and video technology. Shop areas include overhead cranes, large woodworking shops, tool rooms and welding booths for training.
