    Project Coordinator

Can you describe your role at Sullivan?

My role at Sullivan as a Project Coordinator involves the filing, managing, and organizing project activities, maintaining clear communication among the Clients, Consultants, and sub‐trades, and helping to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and successfully.

How has your career grown since starting at Sullivan?

I am an Architect by profession, and I'm grateful to Sullivan for giving me the opportunity to expand my horizons within the field. Over the past two years, I've progressed from a Junior project coordinator to a Senior project coordinator, with aspirations of becoming a Junior project manager. Sullivan is dedicated to fostering the career growth of its employees, and this experience has boosted my confidence in transitioning from design to project management.

What do you like most about working at Sullivan?

I'm benefiting from my experience with the Sullivan North team, where I'm learning from three mentors and life coaches. The first mentor has instructed me in administrative tasks, Sullivan's work methods, and document management for projects. The second mentor has taught me effective project management, teamwork, and on‐ site decision‐making to ensure projects run on schedule. The third mentor focuses on leadership and work‐life balance, emphasizing the importance of communication. Collectively, these mentors have enriched me both personally and professionally, reflecting Sullivan's ethos of personal and professional growth.

  • CHELSEY CROCTEAU

    Human Resource Generalist

Can you describe your role at Sullivan?

As the Human Resources Generalist I am responsible for supporting the Director, Human Resources with the administration, interpretation, and application of a wide range of human resources policies and procedures. I provide day-to-day human resources management services for employees within Sullivan and will be the support for an employee’s life cycle at Sullivan.

How has your career grown since starting at Sullivan?

One of the reasons I joined Sullivan was because I knew I would be able to learn and grow in my career. My manager has supported me in finding personal development goals to further my career and continue to gain new skills. I have already been able to lead new projects on my own and take the lead on different initiatives.

What do you like most about working at Sullivan?

Starting a new career at a new company is very nerve wracking. The one thing I love is the culture at Sullivan and how they treat their employees. Transitioning from a large corporation I realized working with a family makes coming into work every day a great experience and you feel you are not just a number at a large company.

  • ANDREW VAN WYK, C.E.T., PMP

    Project Manager

How has your career grown since starting at Sullivan?

I started with Sullivan working in the Arnprior Builders’ Supplies/Rona store during high school, then transitioned into a site surveyor and quality control position in the field during the summers or when my schedule permitted while attending post-secondary school. Once I graduated, I moved into the office as a Coordinator and quickly moved into a Project Manager role as opportunities arose and additional hands were needed. Since that time, the company has grown exponentially and more opportunities continue to come about that allow internal advancement, as well as movement between divisions for personal development.

What do you like most about working at Sullivan?

As part of the Sullivan family, I love to say that I am a fifth-generation family member working in the day-to-day operations and that I started from the bottom to work my way up through the organization. Across the board, hard work is highly valued in the company and the limits are endless for anyone willing to put in the time and effort.

What are three career lessons you've learned thus far?

    1. Maintain a healthy work-life balance. Although there are times when you are needed to stay late for completion of a task, they shouldn’t become the norm. You need time to switch off from work, make sure that you give yourself permission to do it.
    2. Be a team player. A successful career comes from working and developing with your team, whatever that may look like. Pitching in where needed and helping colleagues in need is much more recognizable than stepping on people who are down in order to get ahead.
    3. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. The mistakes you make don’t define you, how you pick yourself up and learn from them is most crucial. We all make them, just take them as a learning opportunity and move forward.

  • PEYMAN RAJABIAN, B.ENG.

    Construction Estimator

What has been your favourite project at Sullivan and why?

I like working on OPG projects as I usually get involved in my favourite part of construction: concrete and steel scopes. I also like cross-divisional projects as I have a chance to learn more about different architectural divisions.

How has your career grown since starting at Sullivan?

Thanks to the support I have received from management, I have been involved with different types of project estimation. My work on various projects for different clients has given me the chance to develop my knowledge on different approach required for estimate preparation process. I also received great support from my co-workers when it comes to learning procedures and the company’s culture and environment.

What are three career lessons you've learned thus far?

    1. Teamwork is key to successfully completing projects
    2. Time management has been the main factor in my career growth
    3. Experience can’t be gained without hard work

  • JESSICA GEICK

    Logistics Manager

Can you describe your role at Sullivan?

Currently I work full time on the Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre (ANMRC) at CNL. I am the Document Control Manager for the team, but am also transitioning to the position of Logistics Manager for the project.

How has your career grown since starting at Sullivan?

I’ve gained so much construction industry experience. I started pretty green in this regard, having worked on non‐ construction projects previously. ANRMC is such a huge and complex project that I have gained experience and a better understanding of construction processes, scheduling, QA, Safety etc.

What are three career lessons you've learned thus far?

    1. Do not be afraid to ask the simple questions. Someone else is likely wondering the same thing.
    2. Focus on developing and using your strengths
    3. Making connections with your co workers is so important for team building, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and experience.

    Company Security Officer

What has been your favourite project at Sullivan and why?

I started back in 2019 as a Project Administrator on an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Project up at CNL Chalk River called CNL New Builds. This was my first and favourite Project with Sullivan.
